Terms of Service

Welcome to MacroStack. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and MacroStack (“MacroStack,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the MacroStack website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Not medical or nutritional advice

MacroStack provides calculators, tracking tools, AI-generated suggestions, and educational content for general informational purposes only. It is not medical, nutritional, psychological, or fitness advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional. Always consult a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified provider before starting any diet, supplement, fasting protocol, or exercise program, and never disregard professional advice because of something you read on the Service. If you experience adverse symptoms, stop using the Service and seek medical attention.

3. Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@macrostackhq.com if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create risk for us or other users.

4. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

MacroStack offers a free tier and paid plans (currently Pro and Coach). Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring subscription basis through our payment processor, Stripe.

  • Free trial. If your plan includes a free trial, you will not be charged during the trial period. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for the same billing interval until you cancel. You authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method on each renewal.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep paid features until then.
  • Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, and partial periods are not pro-rated.
  • Price changes. We may change prices with reasonable notice; changes apply to renewals after the notice period.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any law, infringe any right, or promote self-harm, eating disorders, or dangerously restrictive diets;
  • Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that you do not have the right to share;
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code or underlying data of the Service except as permitted by law;
  • Interfere with the Service, probe for vulnerabilities, or use it to send spam, malware, or automated requests at a rate that burdens our infrastructure;
  • Resell, sublicense, or use the Service to build a competing product without our written permission.

6. User content

You retain ownership of content you create or upload (meal logs, photos, posts, journal entries, etc.). You grant MacroStack a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process your content solely as needed to operate and improve the Service. For content you choose to make public (for example, community posts), you grant the same license to other users in the contexts the Service exposes it. You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the right to share it.

7. AI features

The Service includes AI-generated coaching, meal suggestions, and chat features (“AI Output”). AI Output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. You are responsible for evaluating AI Output before relying on it, and you should not treat it as professional medical or nutritional advice. We do not guarantee that AI Output is unique to you, and similar output may be generated for other users.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks (other than user content), is owned by MacroStack or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

9. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (for example, Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, and AI model providers). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies and we are not responsible for them.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CALCULATIONS, FOOD DATA, OR AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MACROSTACK AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MacroStack harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your user content, or your misuse of the Service.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
